According to ABC 30, Fresno CA is proposing some new ordinances that could help to push the growth of Cannabis-related businesses.
Fresno, CA city counsel already voted to prevent sales of recreational Marijuana sales, but this week they will discuss new rules that would allow for Medical Marijuana dispensaries and other businesses related to Marijuana. Many businesses are trying to enter this business, and the overwhelming amount of legislation and permits have made for a barrier of entry.
The state has a beacon of hope, however.
The 420 College has been helping many entrepreneurs and new businesses navigate the process and break into the legal marijuana and cannabis industry.
The new ordinances and laws the city of Fresno is proposing could help businesses break into the market and ease the burden of the current system. It would allow people to begin the application process for a temporary marijuana business permit while the zoning ordinance is still being considered. Under the current Proposition 64 it is up to local jurisdictions in California to prohibit or regulate the cannabis industry.
Voting on this matter will be held on Thursday, December 14th.
What do you think? Is this a good idea? Think more states should follow suit?
